Warm West African-inspired rhythms and empathetic cries of solidarity that dip into the psychedelic sounds of the 1970s: this is the quintessence of Kokoroko. The London-based eight-piece collective's musical project is articulated through majestic melodies that spring from ongoing collaboration. Winners of 'Best Group' at the Urban Music Awards 2020 and Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2021, but also lauded on the NPR Austin 100 list, Kokoroko specialize in soul shaking and horn fuelled sounds with West African roots and Inner London overtones. The group has performed at numerous festivals in the UK and Europe, including Glastonbury, Meltdown Festival, Elbjazz, Jazz a la Villette, Jazz in Vienne, Eden Festival, We Out Here, and BBC6 Music Festival.
